A Drifting Down

July 13, 2017 by jgambone Leave a Comment

The well cut fields sprawl out in front of you for what seems to be an endless ocean of green. Just as the horizon drops off, a small gathering of trees huddle together. They almost seem content with the ground they grow on. This cluster is free to grow as tall as they may, and act as a resting place for any creature that passes by.

Above you, the overcast skies are rippling with details. Is a storm coming? Just as you imagine a great rain coming your way, a tear in the cloudy carpet opens up. Light pours through, illuminating low clouds and the trees below. Then you remember. The will sun shine no matter how gray it is.
